What to expect
A dental check-up is designed to identify problems early, keep your mouth healthy, and reduce the need for complex treatment later.
What to expect:
• A full assessment of teeth, gums, bite and jaw function
• Review of your medical history, medications and any symptoms
• Oral cancer screening and soft tissue checks
• Assessment of gum health (including bleeding, pocketing and recession if indicated)
• Discussion of your concerns (sensitivity, pain, aesthetics, bad breath, grinding, etc.)
• Digital X-rays where clinically indicated (not always required)
After your appointment:
• Clear explanation of findings in plain language
• A tailored plan with options (including priorities, timelines and costs)
• Prevention advice (cleaning technique, diet, smoking, acid wear and reflux guidance)
• Recommended recall interval based on your risk profile (often 6–12 months, sometimes sooner)
If you are anxious, let us know—appointments can be paced and explained step-by-step.
