What to expect
Hygiene visits focus on removing plaque and calculus (tartar), improving gum health, and preventing decay and gum disease.
What’s included (tailored to your needs):
• Gum health assessment and bleeding/pocket checks where appropriate
• Thorough scaling to remove plaque and hardened deposits
• Polishing to smooth surfaces and help reduce future plaque retention
• Targeted stain management (tea/coffee/red wine/smoking) where suitable
• Oral hygiene coaching (toothbrushing, interdental brushes/floss, water flosser advice)
• Prevention plan: fluoride strategies, sensitivity control, mouthwash guidance when appropriate
Why it matters:
Healthy gums support healthy teeth. Early gum inflammation is often painless—regular hygiene helps prevent progression to more serious periodontal problems.
Aftercare:
You may have mild sensitivity or gum tenderness for 24–48 hours, especially if there is inflammation. We will advise on products and techniques to keep results stable.
