What to expect
Fillings repair teeth affected by decay, fractures or wear and restore its functions. Our goal is a strong restoration that looks natural and protects the tooth.
Types of fillings (depending on tooth and case):
• Tooth-coloured composite (most common for visible areas)
• Alternative materials may be discussed if clinically indicated
What to expect:
• Numbing (local anaesthetic) for comfort if needed.
• Removal of decay/damaged tissue
• Placement of the filling in layers (for composites) and bite adjustment
• Polishing to achieve a smooth finish
Aftercare:
• Avoid very hard food.
• Mild sensitivity is common for a short period
• If the bite feels “high,” contact us—small adjustments can prevent discomfort
If a tooth is heavily compromised, we may recommend a crown/onlay rather than a large filling for long-term strength.
